Check your emails for the zoom link ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the Kaiser Permanente Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) SYEP is a six-week paid internship for high school students (ages 16+) from underrepresented communities, offering opportunities to explore both clinical and non-clinical careers in healthcare. This program offers hands-on learning, helps students develop valuable skills, and provides insight into a wide range of healthcare professions. What You’ll Do • Explore various health careers through education days. • Create and present a Community Awareness Project addressing healthcare challenges and disparities. • Strengthen skills in communication and professionalism. • Gain valuable mentorship opportunities and build a foundation towards a fulfilling career in healthcare. Criteria and Requirements • Must be a current high school student (≥16 y/o). • Must have a valid Social Security Number (SSN). • Cannot be a dependent of a Kaiser Permanente employee. • Attendance is mandatory for the duration of the 6-week program; Monday – Friday, 4 hours per day. • Summer School or Vacations during this 6-week period must not interfere with your intern schedule. • Must have flexible availability for assigned shift (8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm).
