PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This is STEP 1 of the Kaiser Permanente Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) internship referral program. Youth interested in receiving the KP program application must attend a Job Skills Workshop(Step 1) and become Work Ready Certified (Step 2) During the Job Skills Workshop(JSW) you will learn about resume building, interviewing, and how to stand out during the selection process. Check your emails for the zoom link ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the Kaiser Permanente Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) SYEP is a six-week paid internship for high school students (ages 16+) from underrepresented communities, offering opportunities to explore both clinical and non-clinical careers in healthcare. This program offers hands-on learning, helps students develop valuable skills, and provides insight into a wide range of healthcare professions. What You’ll Do • Explore various health careers through education days. • Create and present a Community Awareness Project addressing healthcare challenges and disparities. • Strengthen skills in communication and professionalism. • Gain valuable mentorship opportunities and build a foundation towards a fulfilling career in healthcare. Criteria and Requirements • Must be a current high school student (≥16 y/o). • Must have a valid Social Security Number (SSN). • Cannot be a dependent of a Kaiser Permanente employee. • Attendance is mandatory for the duration of the 6-week program; Monday – Friday, 4 hours per day. • Summer School or Vacations during this 6-week period must not interfere with your intern schedule. • Must have flexible availability for assigned shift (8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm).
