UNITE-LA/ Metro TCAP Interest Application Form 2022 Thank you for your interest in LA Metro Transportation Career Academy Program Virtual Summer Internship. Overview: The Transportation Career Academy Program (TCAP) Summer Internship Program is looking for high school students who reside in the Los Angeles County area an opportunity to intern and learn about careers in transportation. In addition, students will be able to apply classroom theories and concepts to “real-world” work situations at the nation’s 2nd largest public transportation agency. This program enables LA Metro to keep its commitment to serving the community through student engagement and offers LA County’s youth to complete a Transportation Distanced-Based Learning Project. Location: Los Angeles, CA (DTLA area) Compensation: $500 stipend at the end of program Eligibility Qualifications • All applicants must be between the ages of 16 - 18 years of age • All applicants must be High School Juniors (11th Grader) and/or Seniors (12th Grader) • MUST have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 cumulative or higher (proof of official transcript) • Must have the right to work in the United States • Must be available to work virtually Monday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1 p.m.-3 p.m. twice a week for seven weeks o Starting from Friday, June 24, 2022- Friday, August 5, 2022 • Attend the TCAP Graduation Ceremony & Deliver their Team’s Project on Friday, August 5, 2022 • Have access to internet, computer, laptop, or technology • Participate in all weekly “In-service training sessions” • Commit to work and complete a team Distanced-Based Learning Project Process: • UNITE-LA staff will review your application. We will follow-up prescreening interview dates. • If selected for referral, you will receive the TCAP Metro Application to complete. • Deadline to submit application: Friday, March 11, 2022 by 4:30 p.m.
